The Reality of Miracles

The Story of Quynh N. Gabriel

Amid difficult circumstances, have you ever wondered about God’s power? Well, if you’ve had such doubts, the story of Quynh N. Gabriel should erase all those in a hurry. Quynh is on our teaching staff here at Harvest Christian School. While being pregnant, Quynh developed a severe case of Covid, which threatened her pregnancy and her own life. After determining the seriousness of her condition and her soon-to-be-born child’s health in mind, the doctors made the difficult decision to put her on a ventilator.

Nowadays, being put on such a device spells doom for most Covid-19 cases of that magnitude. In her case, doctors have put the mortality rate close to 98%, this was not a trivial affair, but Quynh had a powerful ally in her fight against the disease; God Himself. At 32 weeks (quite early in her pregnancy), Quynh delivered Evalyn Soi Bravo prematurely on January 24, 2022, weighing 3 pounds, 11 ounces.

However, God wasn’t done with the miracles. Quynh was under the respirator for eight days before finally self-extubating with the help of a nurse on night eight. Within a few days, she was breathing independently and left the ICU. She was finally able to meet her precious baby girl on February 3 and was discharged from the hospital the following day.

There are no doubts about the advancements in modern medicine. Quynh benefited from the very best our doctors and nurses can offer, but even they kept telling Quynh what a miracle her recovery (and the birth of her daughter) had been. A constant stream of prayers filled the halls of that hospital. Prayer was also being lifted up from our Harvest staff and congregation. As updates were coming in, prayer was going out through every major step in her recovery. Prayer warriors went on the warpath and made God listen to their cries. Because of it, Quynh was able to bring her daughter home on February 24, where she continues to grow healthier day after day.

Our God is the God of miracles. It’s as simple as that. He is all-powerful, and when you are in the pit, He is the only one providing a way out. According to modern science, Quynh should have been with the Father by now, but our God had another plan to spare her life so that a family could begin life anew. Just in case you were wondering, prayer works. It is our direct channel to God. It is our lifeline and our best hope. Quynh’s recovery wasn’t left to chance; it was in the hands of our mighty Lord; He saved her and her daughter.

If you find yourself in a pit of your making, despairing for a better outcome, here is what you must do; look up to the heavens, bow your head in prayer, and ask the Savior for strength, courage, and deliverance, because frankly, only He can.

Miracles happen every day, and Quynh’s story is proof of it happening right here, right now. If you have experienced a modern day miracle or are hoping for one, you can share your story with us at harvest.church/share-your-story.
