FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Unsure about where, how, or who to serve at Harvest Church?
Check out the answers to these frequently asked questions.
Is my help really needed? It seems like you have plenty of volunteers.
Yes! Your help really is needed. It’s been estimated that 80% of church ministry is done by 20% of the church. When you step in and take part, you are helping others shoulder the work. We have lots of areas where your service can be of immense value…and just think how much more ministry we could accomplish if everyone were to get involved!
What if I’m not a good fit for the ministry I choose? Will I be stuck?
Sometimes the best way to learn if a ministry is right for you is to give it a try. If you find out that it’s not a good fit, then it’s best for everyone if you move into another ministry that better suits your skills, personality, or interests. We want your serving experience to be a joy, not an obligation!
What area needs help the most?
While we appreciate your heart to serve where most needed, we’d prefer you ask the questions: What area speaks to my interests, skills, and temperament? What area do I think God might want to use me in? What area sounds like it would fit me best?
For help in determining these things, take the Ministry Service Quiz to find out what areas might suit you best.
Can I serve in more than one area/role?
Yes, as long as there are no schedule conflicts. But please don’t overextend yourself. What can start as a fulfilling and joyous experience can quickly turn to burnout if you strain your schedule and energy. It’s better to serve in one area well than in several areas with mediocrity.
