A Substitute Teacher must be a born-again Christian, committed to living a biblical lifestyle and called by God to teach at Harvest School. This substitute position will, when called upon, teach, plan, direct, and coordinate student activities at the elementary level: academic, social, physical, and spiritual wholeness, with compassion, encouragement, and leadership. A Substitute Teacher must be dependable, friendly, enthusiastic, creative, and organized, with the ability to relate well with children, parents, school staff, and volunteers. They teach with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promotes Harvest’s culture, values, and mission.
- Maintain a positive Christian atmosphere in the classroom.
- Demonstrate a Christ-like and positive professional attitude toward students; treat students with respect, remain objective when dealing with student problems, grading, etc.
- Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods such as lectures, discussions, and demonstrations.

Roving Sub
A Roving Substitute serves as back-up personnel in many areas of the school. Areas include: 1) Office – Performs routine clerical functions, greets visitors, administers first aid to students. 2) Teacher Assistant – Follows direction from the classroom teacher. 3) Playground/Day Care – Oversees play activities, council students as needed. 4) Security – Signs in/badges all visitors, security sweeps, observes movement of students and adults on campus. 5) Library – Check books in/out. 6) Hot Lunch – Pick up blue bags from classrooms, empty and sort contents, prepare/run snack cart, print lunch count and call in to Café, collect lunch cards from students during lunch. He/She serves with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promotes Harvest’s mission, culture and values
• Greet visitors, answer the telephone and walkie-talkie and route all calls to the appropriate people.
• Administer first aid to students.
• Follows direction from the classroom teacher.
• Assists students, grades papers, prepare student folders.

This entry-level position is responsible for performing routine cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, washing walls and glass, and removing trash. Duties also include notifying management of any needed repairs. Activities are both indoors and outdoors, and may require travel between Satellite campuses. They serve with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promotes Harvest’s culture, values and mission.

- Gather and empty trash.

- Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
- Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs.
- Request supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees.

Elective Teacher

This position teaches, plans, directs and coordinates student activities at the secondary level: academic, social, physical and spiritual wholeness, with compassion, encouragement and leadership. An Elective Teacher must be dependable, friendly, enthusiastic, creative and organized, with the ability to relate well with children, parents, school staff and volunteers. They must teach with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promotes Harvest’s culture, values and mission. The primary function is to help students attain intellectual achievement and emotional maturity through the appropriate use of resources provided by Harvest Christian School.
- Teach pupils the skills necessary for those pupils to achieve performance standards.
- Instruct pupils in citizenship, basic communication, computation skills and other elements of the course of study as specified by administration.
- Develop and maintain lesson plans and instructional materials that provide and organize the base for instruction.
- Maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to provide a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.
- Evaluate pupils’ academic progress and social growth, maintaining appropriate records and making progress reports, communication with parents on pupil progress and determining whether satisfactory pupil performance is occurring.
